Hello, I am Meg from YotsuyaBusinessGarden.

One of my favorite salads is ‘Neva-Neva salad’.
‘Neva-Neva’ means gooey. This salad is made of gooey vegetables.

It is made of okra and nagaimo yam, which are topped with mitsuba and myouga.
Sometimes I add mozuku (kind of sea wood) in.
They are  tasty, because each different texture.
‘Neva-Neva’ food is known to be good for your  health.
It is said that they effects to lower the blood cholesterol level.

I like to eat  ‘Neva-Neva salad' , especially in hot season !

Pizza

Hello, everyone.
How are you?
This is Rumi from the Shibuya Business Garden.

It's hard to believe that May is almost over which means nasty rainy season is
around the corner. cry!!
I hate, wops I shouldn't have said something like that as a grown up, I mean I don't like rain so much.

But anyway, I am not talking about rain instead let me talk about pizza!
Is there anyone who don't like pizza?
No one!   Everyone loves pizza!

I was surprised to find out how often American(at least people I knew) eat pizza.
I can't remember any party where Pizza was not served.

We have pizza delivery shops such as the Pizza Hat and the Domino's of course.
But their price is like astronomical considering their size.
How come  Japanese large size pizza turned out to be less than middle size in American standard?

So my solution for this situation?
Make your own pizza from scratch!

It's fun to make pizza especially your duty is MAINLY sprinkle your favorite toppings:)
Other part is gracefuly left for my family. Yes, family is supposed to help each other, isn't it?

I ate 3 pieaces and had difficult time to digest.
How I wish I listened the Europian rule which says never eat a lot of cheeze with water.
I will be a good girl and follow the advice from the next.

Hope you have a smooth week.

Japanese home cooking ① Grilling Abura-age with whitebaits and green onion

Hello, I am Meg from Yotsuya BuisinessGarden.
I would like to introduce some Japanese style home cooked meal.
Since I have married, almost every day I have cooked for my family.
However, I cannot take much time to cook, comparing to full-time housewife.

My dishes are very simple to cook, but tasty!
This is grilling Abura-age with whitebaits and green onion.

One of my friends taught me this way at her home party.

Firstly, grille Abura-age on both sides
Secondly, put whitebaits and green onion on
Thirdly, sprinkle with soy sauce

The most important thing is to choose the good Abura-age,
If you have a chance, please get good Abura-age in handmade tofu store and try it!

An earthquake in Bologna

Hello, this is Maiko Yamada from the Yotsuya Business Garden.

Do you know a quite big earthquake was hit in Bologna?
it was hit before dawn on 20th.
I have some friends there, so I was really worried about them.
I made contact with them hurryingly, I was relieved that they all were safe....

Some people were crushed under and died, however, the departed were in a minority.
There are many buildings which are the world heritage, some of them were destroyed, however, they are keep it from escalating out of control.
These areas are really nice place which I have visited before, so I am worried about it.

When we have experienced 3.11, my Italian friends contacted me soon, I felt so delighted.

Like Japan, Italy is a volcanic country and have an earthquake.
I hope damage would not to become expland more.

Tama river cycling course

Hello, everyone. How are you doing?
This is Rumi from the Shibuya Business Garden.

Do you like cycling?
My long lasted idea about bicycle was not so much for a sport as for a transportation.
I used to commute to and from school by bicycle when I was in a jr. high school.
And if you live alone in a big city such as Tokyo, you practically don't need a car,
just owing a car would cost you a fortune. It is a different story when you have family though.
So if you go somewhere and your destination is not suitable for a bus ride or train ride,
you usually use a bicycle as a convenient transportation.

But  I have found out lately there are so many people who enjoy cycling as sport and hobby.
I happen to live close to the Tama river and the riverside is very famous for cycling.
There is a 50 km cycling course along the Tama river.

Weather was great on last Saturday, and perfect day for a long cycling with newly bought bike.
So many people were enjoying cycling there as well and water in the river was amazingly crystal clear.

Why don't you try the cycling course?
It's such a nice way to enjoy your free time and maybe you would find yourself in better shape
after some rounds to boot!

Hope you have a smooth week.

wedding ceremony

Hello.
This is Tomoko from Shimbashi Business Garden.

How's your weekend?

I went to my home town Fukuoka this weekend to attend the wedding of my best friend.
She asked me to give a speech there,so that made me so nervous.
But I was able to extend my deepest congratulations and felt happy to see her big smile.

Have you ever attend a wedding in Japan?
Shinto-style wedding,a religious ceremony held at shrine,is a Japanese traditional wedding ceremony, but nowadays Japanese wedding has a great variety of ways to celebrate.
Even at Tokyo Disney Land, we can hold a wedding...

This is my favorite place 'Keya' at Fukuoka. We can enjoy beautiful sea!

See you next week.

Sanja Festival

Hello, this is hitomi from Shinjuku Business Garden.

Have you ever been to big festival in Japan?
Do you know Asaku sa?

Sanja Matsuri, one of the three biggest festival in Tokyo is held on 17th to20th of May at Asakusa Shrine!!
I went to the Sanja Matsuri on last Sunday.....

During the matsuri, three Mikoshi (portable shrine?) are carried around the Asakusa area where hundreds of thousands of visitors gather to watch the event.

This is one of the three large mikoshi(sannomiya mikoshi)

This is the Kaminari-mon but big lantern was hold and easier to come through the gate for mikoshi.

I really enjoyed Sanja matsuri and touched the spirit of true-born Tokyoite!

The Koishikawa Korakuen

Hello, everyone! How are you doing?
Thsi is Rumi from the Shibuya Business Garden.

As I have mentioned before, I LOVE visiting parks.
There is nothing like spending some time in a park, just totally relaxed and enjoy the sunshine.

This weekend, I visited the Koishikawa Korauen.
The Koishikawa Korakuen is not technically a park, but a Japanese style huge garden constructed by one of the
Daimyo in the early 17th century.

The garden is located in the center of Tokyo and has easy access from the Idabashi stations( the JR, the Tokyo metro, the Tokyo municipal subway). You can enjoy many plants and flowers all year around.

This season was not so great for a flower viewing but still the young green shined to the perfection.
Why don't you visit there sometime? The visit won't consume more than 2 hour of your time:)

Hope you have a smooth week.

The Interesting Custom in Japan No.3 -Is it Yes? or No?-

Hi, This is Yuki from Shinjuku Business Garden.
It is getting hotter and hotter everyday in Tokyo!
I can feel that Summer is coming!

I have been writing about "The interesting custom in Japan".
I will write about "Is it Yes? or No? " today. (sorry, it is not about custom again)

If you are living in Japan,  Have you seen the TV commercial of hair treatment
which goes like this....

"Doesn't the hair treatment take long time to feel the effect?"(spoken in Japanese)

"NO, it DOES!."(spoken in English)

Do you see what is wrong with this conversation?
It should be "Yes, it does", if it is in English.
Very confusing but it should be  "No, it does". if it is in Japanese.

Since this conversation is mixed both languages, people who understand both English
and Japanese would be confused...if the answer is "Yes" or "No"???

Let's practice now!

(1)Did you go to work today?

(English): Yes, I did.
(Japanese): Yes, did.

(2)So, you didn't go to work today?

(English): Yes, I did.
(Japanese): No, I did.

Next time, when you visit Japan, Watch out for these confusing questions! :D

See you next week!

Yuki

The landscape in Kawagoe

Hello, This is Meg at Yotsuya Business Garden.
How was your holiday?  I went to Kawagoe during Golden week.

Kawagoe is one of old historical cities.
You can see the old storehouse like this picture.
This city is called ‘little edo (koedo)’
There are much historical architecture, for example, the bell tower (Toki no Kane), Tendai temple (Naka-in)
It is only 30 minutes from the center of Tokyo by train.
Please find something old and different from Tokyo buildings.

Golden Temple

Hello, how are you doing?
This is Rumi from the Shibuya Business Garden.

How was your Golden week?
I hope you had as nice on as I had:)

I went to Kyoto using the Golden Week.
Everywhere was so packed with tourists from all over the world,
but no one can resist the charm of Kyoto despite the jam.

I visited many temples but I will post the photo of the Golden Temple.

The gold temple is one of the world heritage and you can't deny that it has certain kind of beauty which takes your breath away!
If you have chance to visit Japan, I highly recommend you to pay a visit to Kyoto.
Kyoto still keeps the authentic charm of Japan.

Hope you will have a smooth week.

enjoy green in Boso

Hello!
This is Tomoko at Shimbashi Business Garden.

How's your Golden Week  (Japanese national holidays April29-May6) ?

During the Golden Week holidays, I drove to the Boso Peninsula, which is the south east of Kanto area.
We can go to the Boso area by cars, trains, busses and ferries.
The Boso area is not so far away from crowded Tokyo, but we can enjoy the beautiful nature, ocean, and foods.

I visited Yoro keikoku valley.
This picture is Awamata-no-taki Falls. It is one of the biggest water falls in Chiba prefecture.
The water there was so cold, but I enjoyed and relaxed.

Yoro keikoku is famous for its beautiful colored leaves in autumn, but now we can enjoy new green leaves. How about going there next holiday?

See you next week.

Hatagaya Sakura Hotel

Hello, everyone.
This is Maiko Yamada from the Yotsuya Business Garden.
I visited Hatagaya Sakura Hotel yesterday.

It is about 5 mins from Hatagaya station. It is quite easy to get there.
The explanation of map is also easy to understand.

Staffs of Hatagaya are all kind and have a good hospitality towards guests and group companies,
I think.

I'll introduce some as below with attached file.

#1 This is the entrance. Some recommendation lists are inducted.

#2 This is entryway. Standing Bar will be started near future;)
You can drink or eat at terrace seat!!!

#3 This is a restaurant. You can communicate many people from overseas.

#4 This is a bedroom for 3 people.

#5 This is "White Sakura Choco". I recommend it to drink.
Sakura syrup is on the bottom. You can feel Japanese Cherry Blossoms while drinking.
This is really yummy;)  There is also "Sakura Tea Latte".

Umbrella

Hello, everyone. How are you doing?
Are  you enjoying the Golden Week?
This is Rumi from the Shibuya Business Garden.

Gladly the first part of the Golden week turned out to be good weather.
That was great.

But have you notice a lot of women wore their umbrella under the sun?
You might have found that very strange but the purpose of wearing the umbrella is not for rain
but for protecting themselves from the sunshine.
I guess it is very particular habit of Japanese women.
Yes, we Japanese women are super keen to keep our skin from getting suntan.
I am also one of umbrella users under the sunshine, and I used my UV-umbrella on last Sunday for the first time in this year.

I wish I could post a photo of my UV-umbrella, but I LOST it in a train.
I was in deep asleep and rushed out when I reached my station without bothering to pick up my umbrella.
I loved my umbrella. CRY!!

If you happen to find a black folding umbrella with purple inside, it might be mine.
Please let me know.

Hope you have a good week!
