Those are the Boston Marathon, London Marathon, Berlin Marathon, Chicago Marathon, and New York Marathon.
In Tokyo, we have Tokyo Marathon as the biggest marathon race which started in 2007, and has been continued annually for the last 5 years.
It has become the biggest event in Tokyo. You 'll see 30,000 runners running from the Shinjuku Metropolitan Government Office district, and they pass many tourist attractions; Hibiya (the Imperial palace), Shinagawa, Ginza(High-class shopping area), Asakusa (Scenic downtown) , Tsukiji (famous for the Fish Market), and finish at Tokyo Big Sight located at the Tokyo bay district.
The next Tokyo Marathon 2012 will be held on Feb 26 (Sun) 2012.

Only those who won the drawing can attend the race. The applicants were nearly ten times as many as the fixed number. They accept applications till the end of August.

I myself ran the one in 2009.
The weather was bad (rainy) and 42km was overwhelming for me because I was not good in health at that time. (but I finally won the drawing so I didn't want to spoil the chance). It was a hard 42.195km but now it's memorable.
Please come to Tokyo and run, attend this marathon festival.
